Finally, the hell week ended with today's stats paper, which I think I faired rather badly. CNY week = Recess week is a no-joke killer, though I spent more then half of the time celebrating new year. Econs's results were out too, managed to score 75, and it put me onto the average. Hopefully, I will fair good enough on the exam for a B+ or A-. Seriously, after almost a year in NUS, this is the first time I faired rather okay for a paper.
Met up with Jun and GL on friday night for dinner at Carl's and beers at Hooters. Hooters was rather dissapointing, but a pint of Hoegarden for $10.50 was considered average, slightly cheaper then Ken's. And we took the last bus from the quay to Geylang for supper. It been ages since we took a bus, and the journey reminiscenced the secondary school years somehow. And since we were there, we visited the "back alley". But instead of the normal "monkey business", the alley has modified into a gambling den, with stacks and stacks of fifty dollars on the tables. And the classic part was the police raid that occured concurrently as we walked out of the alley. Thus, we saw a "live version" of a police raid, and how the undercovers appeared through the crowd. It was thrilling, but the idea that if they caught us by mistake put everything to an off. Imagine: Three big guys get caught for supper at geylang, and the next day, newspaper's heading reads "LOCAL UNDERGRADUATES GOT CAUGHT FOR SEEKING SEXUAL ACTIVITIES ILLEGALLY". Get the picture??? I know, it's kindda stupid, but that was e thought at the moment. Haha. Anyway, in case u are curious or suspicious, we don't HOOK. I fish thou, and hoping to go onto the kelong with sister and bro-in-law this coming weekend, even though the agency said it was full. That couple got confused with my common test week. Boooo.
Saturday saw me with meeting up Kris, Irene and Hua after they have gone into hiding for 800 years! Went for that IKEA sales, and was rather fascinated with their auction. Imagine a $265 cupboard going for as low as $3 for a bid! Or, four folding chairs selling off for the price of one? It was dirt cheap! Too bad, my room was too small for any new furniture. Had KFC after a year of stopping it, followed by chilling out at Essential Brew. Together, we came out with 8633 for a 4D buy, but it came out 8631 on sunday (Draw No. 2511) instead. How sad! Hopefully, our Thailand trip would be successful, been ages and ages since the four of us have some real fun! On top of that, I guess I miss the rest of the poly cliques too, esp Ivy, Evelyn, PoH, HK, and KG.
Was surprised today to receive a mail from Dr. Forday that our diploma can now entered NUS Medical School to study medicine, and the intake is 10%, just as much as the percentage for the Life Sciences. If only I was a year younger, and did way better... Haha.
Signed out.
